Progynova 1 is a sugar-coated tablet containing 1 mg of Estradiol Valerate, an ester of the natural estrogen 17-beta-estradiol. It is used in menopausal hormone replacement therapy (HRT) for relief of estrogen-deficiency symptoms and for prevention of postmenopausal osteoporosis, and as part of assisted-reproduction cycles (endometrial preparation) under specialist supervision.
How It Works
After oral absorption, estradiol valerate is hydrolysed to estradiol, the primary physiological estrogen. Estradiol binds estrogen receptors to restore estrogenic activity in target tissues — relieving vasomotor and urogenital symptoms, maintaining bone density, and preparing the endometrium.
